For those who want to try out the blacksmithing experience, and just want to dip their toes in, then the 1-hour session is for them! Blacksmithing can be a labour-intensive craft and while blacksmiths make it look easy, it can be exhausting. This one-hour session gives you the glee of swinging a hammer and bashing hot metal, without the commitment to a long period of time doing it. The session allows you to make one of the products from the Moggy Metals shop, with your own personal touches and tweaks. Hot and cold drinks are available as well as snacks, and you're welcome to bring one guest to take photos and videos while you're working!
If you want the time to experience more of the craft including the techniques involved in larger products, then the 3-hour session is for you! In the session, you will make one of the smaller items available at Moggy Metals, and be guided through the complex process involved in seemingly simple items. You will also make a larger item giving you plenty to brag and boast about when you return home. These larger items include toasting forks, kebab skewers, cheese tools and fire tongs. They all have multiple processes in, and give you a chance to flex those new skills, learnt during the small item. Lunch is also included, as well as hot and cold drinks and snacks.
If you're really wanting to experience the day in the life of a blacksmith, then this 5-hour session is the ticket, for sure! In this, our longest session, you get the full day to experience the blacksmith life, right down to the black inner nose and dusty eyebrows.
Your day will be about stamina and application of process, all in aid of completing a whole project. These projects could include, a full set of cheese tools, a 2 or 3-piece fireside tool set, a set of garden mushrooms, a 2 or 3 piece garden tool set, or up to 6 small/large individual products to make throughout the session. Lunch, snacks, hot and cold drinks are included, as well as a FREE personalised gift made by the Moggy Metals Blacksmith herself.
